Hi-Rail Repairs

Two ways to travel, two ways to break.

Regular Maintenance Is Critical

Hi-rail units are unique in their dual-mode ability to transport—and their need to be both roadworthy and rail-compliant. Hi-rail units operate on active rail lines, so when failures occur, you’re at high risk for derailments, collisions, and even track damage.

The high potential cost in both lives and equipment, stemming from failures means that these vehicles are closely regulated by Canadian National Railway. We’re certified and equipped to maintain and repair your hi-rail vehicles for full compliance with these requirements.

What We Do

When we perform regular maintenance on hi-rail vehicles, we’ll first perform a hi-rail unit inspection. This ensures that we address every problem component of your unit and give you full peace of mind in the operation of your equipment.

These inspections frequently include testing and repairs for:

  • Rail wheel alignment, wear, and flange condition
  • Wear on bearings & cylinders
  • Hydraulic lift/lowering system function
  • Hi-rail alignments
  • Electrical & safety systems
  • Track testing for alignment, braking, and operation safety.

If you’ve already experienced a critical failure, we will inspect and repair your unit to get you operational again with as little downtime as possible.
